Tibber – Scaleable Recruiting and Culture in a Fast-growing Environment

Background & Starting Position

Tibber had a goal to recruit around 100 people per year, but Talent Acquisition was clearly a bottleneck: their internal TA, lots of new managers without recruiting experience, and no common method. The largest pressure was in House of Customer, where customer support couldn't keep up, which had already led to paused marketing campaigns.

Mission

To speed up the rate of recruiting immediately and simultaneously create a sustainable modle – without making Tibber more hierarchical.

Approach

We built a standardized and inclusive recruiting process, developed templates and way of working, coached hiring managers an the C suite in prioritization and decisionmaking, and took operative responsibility for the whole chain (sourcing, interviews, offers). We customized the career page and supported outsourcing parts of customer support. We also challenged the planned structure, which resulted in a branch of managers being removed to the benefit of a more autonomous model.

Results & Impact

The rate of recruiting increased from 2–3 people to 7–10 people per month. Earlier processes that took up to 6 months were shortened to 1–2 months. Around 50 people were recruited to customer support in four countries. The dependency of fully booked managers decreased by around 95% of all recruitings, and the candidate experience improved.
